🌞 It. Is. Hot. 🌞
Summer started way too early for me here in the South & since then, I have been getting up before the crack of dawn just to be able to enjoy a good workout outdoors several times a week: because, outside 🌳 = #myhappyplace. ☺️
Where I live, there is a fantastic park with a path which circles a cute little pond (pictured above), winds up a hill into a wooded area, and back down again —> perfect for feeling like you've escaped into nature without having to drive into 'the sticks' to find it. 🌱
Most of my workouts this summer have consisted of an obstacle course (of early morning dog-walkers, duck poo, a hissing goose or 17, frogs, toads, and 15 million adrenaline-junkie squirrels) while on power-walks, runs, variable intensity interval work, boot-camp-style body weight work, and the occasional meandering, soaking up the 'new mercies' that come with each morning sunrise or 'sharpening iron' with my workout buddies. I also get a good, consistent muscle twitch goin' on whilst swatting the cloud of gnats that seem to follow only me around the park. But, I'm always doing something different: because, same = 😑, & 😑= falling off my own fitness-bandwagon....
☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️AND always before the sun begins baking my biscuits. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
This morning was an interval morning consisting of toy-soldiers + butt-kickers, walking lunges + high knees, side shuffles/lunges, and lots of sprints. It was perfect. And just because I say I am beating the heat, doesn't mean I'm not sweating!

If you don't have a park like mine to get your workout on at, use your house: lunge one lap around then march or do butt-kickers the next lap around, or use your neighborhood/city-block: one interval down, another back. Whatever you choose, drink lots of water to stay hydrated & watch out for that goose 💩!
💪 What is your favorite way to stay active and fit this summer? 💪
